Last September I was able to attend the Dapper Day Event at Disneyland. This has been a dream of mine since they started it in 2011. So when we decided to visit California, we made sure our trip was centered around this particular event.
What is Dapper Day??
“Started in February 2011, DAPPER DAY Events organizes fashionable outings to Disney Parks twice a year (spring and fall) in LA, Orlando, and Paris. These events include a “DAPPER DAY at the Parks” with informal in-park meetups, and other happenings outside the parks such as our DAPPER DAY EXPO (in the Disneyland Hotel Exhibit Hall) and our official after party FOLLY in Downtown Disney Anaheim. We sometimes organize other non-Disney-related events at various other locations throughout the year.
DAPPER DAY Events celebrates the tradition of “stepping out in style” and are meant to showcase you at your best. We do not aim to recreate a specific period. All sophisticated attire is encouraged from vintage-inspired classics to chic contemporary looks. Active and retired military are encouraged to wear your dress blues or service uniforms if you like.”
So you can imagine how excited I was to be able to combine two of my favorite things – Disney and dressing well. The day was extremely hot, but we just took our time and strolled around the park. Living on the East Coast now, it’s always a treat to be able to visit the original park. And now as we prepare to move to Europe, we’ll be visiting Disneyland Paris for the Spring Dapper Day event in April 2016.
