Shot to the heart

It’s been quite a while since I got all glammed up just for a photo shoot. When this dress from eShakti arrived, I immediately started planning out how I wanted to style this dress. However the weather clearly didn’t get my request for clear skies. But it’s ok, we made the best of it.

Normally I shy away from anything with cutesy hearts on it, but this hearts and arrows dress is so reminiscent of the iconic sweater that Ginger Rogers wore in the 1938 movie Carefree as well as the dress that House of Schiaparelli came out with in 2014, that I just couldn’t resist. I’m a sucker for garments with embroidery and this dress did not dissapoint.

Buzzing with excitement

Lately I’ve been making more of an effort to meet new people and foster new friendships. Since we moved to Germany it’s been a bit more difficult for me to make friends…not that it was super easy for me before. But in the last few months I’ve really been trying to make more of an effort to get out and talk to people and to make time for new friends.

I’ve met some amazing ladies lately who are super inspiring and I am excited to spend more time with them. I miss my “vintage” friends back in the states, but I’m slowly cultivating my own group of fabulous people here and hope to get them all together someday very soon for a Vintage Outing.

Yesterday I drove up to Frankfurt to meet Maria (@mariabordoysboudoir on Instagram). We’ve been “friends” on Instagram for quite some time now, but we’d never met in person. She is just as lovely in person as she is on her Instagram feed. We spent several hours talking and eating delicious food (and treats). I was super nervous, as I usually am when meeting fabulous vintage people. But her warm presence put me at ease immediately. I can’t wait to hang out with her again very soon.

Being able to dress up and spend time with amazing, inspiring and fabulous people really feeds my soul.

New Fall Colors

I always think of fall colors as being reds, orange, greens and browns, you know the color of falling leaves. But I forget that navy really should be included in the fall lineup. This dress from the new Femme Fatale Collection from Miss Candyfloss, is a perfect fall frock. I love plaid and you really don’t see this color pallet with plaids, so when it came out, I knew I had to have it, plus it’s the first dress from Miss Candyfloss that I’ve had with POCKETS!!!!
