We now live about 45 minutes from the French border, so for The Gentleman’s birthday yesterday we decided to drive to Metz, France and spend the afternoon. It’s been really hot again here, so I figured what better time to wear my seersucker dress.
Metz was a wonderful surprise. I immediately felt like we were in France, with the beautiful architecture, stunning gardens and the little bistros, it’s almost like a little Paris so close to me. We walked around the Place St. Louis where there was a small carousel with some creative seats.
We then walked around the pedestrian shopping district and headed to the Cathedrale Saint-Étienne de Metz, a stunning gothic cathedral built in the 16th century. We went to the indoor market and then had a simple lunch and walked around a bit more before we headed home. I can’t wait to go back and spend more time here, it really is a beautiful city and just made me so happy to be in France once again.

Seersucker is a fantastic fabric! I wish more brands, repro and otherwise, worked with it still these days. You’re the poster child for just how amazing it is!
